Women’s Cross Country Stays Seventh in East in USTFCCCA Poll

USTFCCCA RELEASE

NEW ORLEANS – Suffolk women's cross country remains in the seventh spot in the East in the week 3 edition of the U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association Regional Rankings, the national organization announced.

The Rams held onto the seventh spot after it landed there a week ago for the first time in program history.

The blue-and-gold has been featured in all, but one weekly regional poll by the USTFCCCA since emerging in the regional ranks in week 7 edition of the 2021 campaign. The Rams are the lone Commonwealth Coast Conference team to make the regional ranks thus far this year.

The USTFCCCA Cross Country Coaches' Rankings are determined subjectively by a single member coach in each respective region. The regional representative is tasked with weighing returning teams' strengths with current season results, when applicable, in determining a rank-order by squad potential. Only USTFCCCA member programs are eligible to receive a ranking. The weekly regional ranking by the USTFCCAC began in 2010.

Suffolk jet sets to Colfax, Wisconsin, Friday, Sept. 29 for the Blugold Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin EAU Claire at the Whitetail Golf Course. The women's 6k is scheduled to start at 5:15 p.m.
