Weisse Garners Second GNAC Runner of the Week Nod of the Season

BOSTON – For the second time this season Suffolk women's cross country's Emma Weisse was named GNAC Runner of the Week after putting together a 20th-place performance among the nation's best at the Purple Valley Classic Saturday, the conference office released Monday afternoon.

Weisse's second honor is the third for the Ram this season with the junior's co-captain Emily Manfra taking home the league's best runner over a seven-day stretch status last Monday. Overall, Weisse has garnered fourth weekly awards throughout her career. A Suffolk student-athlete has picked up the league's best runner recognition in each week the Rams have been active this season.

Last Saturday, the Hampden, Massachusetts local, maneuvered through a muddy, 6k course at Greylock Regional High School in 23:35.4. Her time put her 20th in the field of 129, which featured runners from six nationally ranked programs.

Manfra and the Rams have two weeks rest before its final prep before the 2018 GNAC Championships, the Suffolk Invite Friday, Oct. 12.
