Weisse Produces Personal Record at UMass Dartmouth Invitational

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Emma Weisse put together a career-day, shedding over 30 seconds off her personal record 5k time to pace the Rams of the Suffolk women's cross country at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational Saturday morning. 

In a field that featured some of the best collegiate runners across New England and included runners representing NCAA Division I, II and III, Weisse finished 32nd out of 299 runners. The sophomore, who calls Hampden, Massachusetts home, crossed the tape in 19:25.70, 33 seconds faster than her personal best time. Among the Division III competitors, Weiss finished 25th. 

Senior Michelle Kearney and junior Alison Espindola also took the highly competitive course. Kearney posted a time of 23:15.35, while Espindola came through the finisher's chute in 28:17.16. 

Suffolk is back in action Saturday, Sept. 30 when it competes at the Keene State College Invitational in Keene, New Hampshire.
