Sarah Hollis joined Scott Blanchard’s staff as an assistant coach prior to the 2019 campaign and begins her third season this fall (2020).

Hollis’ first season was one for the record books, quite literally, as the Rams wrote the record for most wins in a season with a 20-12 overall ledger, tied the most victories against GNAC counterparts (9-3), to match the program’s highest finish in the league with a four-seed in the playoffs. With hosting rights, Suffolk made more history in the postseason as it secured its first straight set win in league tournament to advance to the semifinals for the second time in as many years in in program history. The season stopped there, however, as conference and regional powerhouse swept the blue-and-gold.

Awards flooded in for the Rams with a pair of third-team All-GNAC honorees in Harmony Johnson and Hannah Fabiano. Johnson became the first Suffolk student-athlete to take home NEWVA All-Rookie Team status, while Sarah Mullahy was the first Ram to be selected to compete the NEWVA Senior All-Star Classic. Dakhensey Marcellus hit a record of her own as the second-ever player to register 1,000 digs in her career.

Hollis' second season was sidelined due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, however, history was still made as Dakhensey Marcellus was the first student-athlete to take home CoSIDA Academic All-District disintction for her work inside the classroom.

Blanchard gave Hollis her first collegiate coaching experience to her short coaching career, which began in 2017 with SMASH Volleyball as an assistant coach of the 13s.

Her most recent addition to her coaching resume features an assistant coaching role with the Boston Hurricanes, a girls’ volleyball street team.

In 2017 Hollis turned in her knee pads and moved to the sidelines after a four-year career at Lesley. During her time with the Lynx, she appeared in 79 matches. She recorded 364 kills, 282 digs, 77 assists, 55 aces and 32 blocks as an opposite hitter.

Hollis graduated from Lesley in 2018 with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Child, Youth & Family Studies with dual minors in education and global studies.

In addition to her responsibilities with the Rams, Hollis works as the Lead Infant/Toddler Teach at the Brookline Schools Staff Children’s Center.
