BOSTON – Suffolk volleyball wraps up its 2023 regular season Saturday, Nov. 4 when it entertains Wentworth at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court. Prior to the 11 a.m. first service, the Rams will recognize its two graduating players, senior captains Jasmine James and Emily Wheeler

LAST TIME OUT
A three-game skid put Suffolk at 15-12 on the year and 4-3 versus CCC counterparts, good for a share of fourth in the league standings.  

The Rams' 11.19 kills per set offense receives over 2.00 kps from McKenna Keoewen (2.75 kps) and Jessica Weber(2.47 kps). Jayla Martinez and Aislinn Lanigan set up the blue-and-gold's attack with 5.02 assists per set and 3.70 assists per set, respectively. At the service line, Morgan Kelsey provides 0.76 aces per set.  

Kelsey is the main defensive force as well with a team-best 4.07 dkps. Keowen adds 3.24 dps, while Sami Shoresupplies 0.84 bps at the net. 

LEOPARDS LOOK
Wentworth has won 12 matches in a row to bring a 20-5 overall mark and a 7-0 unblemished CCC ledger to Smith Court. Ten of those dozen straight victories came in straight sets.  

The twosome of Emma Sanders (3.84 kps) and Kate McLane (3.35 kps) both average well over 3.00  kps to power the Leopards' 12.05 kps attack that is set up by the pair of Olivia Baughn (9.69 aps) and Kinsey Lutz (8.89 aps). 

Defensively, Amanda Zweifler's 3.42 dps leads the way. Emma Sanders pitches in 2.74 dps and Riley Schoonmaker threatens at the net with 0.75 bps.  

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk looks to snap a 12-match skid versus Wentworth. 
  • The Rams are 6-14 all-time against the Leopards. 
  • Suffolk is 4-6 versus WIT at home and 2-8 against the Leopards on the road. 
  • In sweeps, the Rams are 2-10 versus WIT. 
  • Four set decisions are even, 4-4. The last outing that ended in a 3-1 result came Oct. 5, 2021 and ended in the Leopards favor. 
  • The Rams and Leopards have yet to need five sets to decide a winner.
