WILLIAMNATIC, Conn.  – Suffolk volleyball opened action at Geissler Gymnasium Saturday afternoon with a straight set setback to Plymouth State. The Panthers handled the Rams in the first two sets, 25-14 and 25-10, with the blue-and-gold's hard fight in the third falling just short, 25-22.

STATISTICALLY SPEAKING

  • McKenna Keowen and Grace Cervenka each provided six kills to lead the Rams' 23-kill attack. The former added nine digs to the defense, while the latter had a pair of blocks. 
  • Sami Shore supplied five kills behind a .364 attack percentage. 
  • Aislinn Lanigan and Jayla Martinez set-up the attack with nine assists and eight assists, respectively. Lanigan added five digs and one ace as well. 
  • Morgan Kelsey pitched in nine digs, two aces and two helpers. 

NOTEWORTHY

  • Suffolk and Plymouth State renewed a rivalry, meeting for the first time since 2016 and seventh time overall. 
  • All matches between the Rams and Panthers have been decided in 3-0 decisions. 
  • The foes have battled on a neutral hardwood for the fourth time.
