LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk volleyball wasted little time to reenter the win column as the Rams concluded their home tri-match with a 3-0 victory over Fisher Saturday at Smith Court. The non-conference triumph came via set scores 25-16, 25-17 and 25-11. In the win, Morgan Kelsey became the second-ever Ram to notch 200 career aces with her first ace of the match.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk went 2-1 last week to head into Wednesday 13-8 overall and 3-1 in CCC contests.  

McKenna Keowen is an all-around contributor with a team-best 2.65 kps, 0.71 aces per set and 3.23 dps. Jessica Weber adds 2.54 kps to the attack that is primarily set-up by Jayla Martinez' 5.00 assists per set. Aislinn Laniganadds 3.73 assists per set. Morgan Kelsey, who leads the defense with 4.16 dps, chips in 0.76 aces per set to the offense.  Sami Shore and Grace Cervenka lead the way at the net with 0.80 bps and 0.72 bps, respectively. 

HAVE TO KNOW 'BOUT THE HAWKS
Roger Williams fell in a five-set thriller against Western New England Saturday to dip to 7-11 on the year and 1-3 in CCC action.  

Kaylee Jackson's 2.69 kps paces the Hawks 10.81 kps attack that receives 2.31 kps from Brianna Picchietti and 2.11 kps by Jillian Smith. Ava Mattiucci sets up RWU's offense with 8.00 assists per set. 

Defensively, Marianna Hernandez leads the way with 4.73 dps. Jackson adds 2.93 dps and Peyton Felix pitches in 0.79 bps.  

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • The Suffolk, Roger Williams series started in 1998. 
  • The Rams took down the Hawks for the first time in the all-time series with a sweep last season, Oct. 18, 2022. 
  • Seven matches have been played in Boston (0-7), seven in Bristol, Rhode Island (1-6) and five at neutral sites (0-5). 
  • Eleven matches have been decided in straight sets, four in Boston, and five with the Rams as the true away team and two at neutral hardwood. 
  • Six outings were four set decisions. Two came away and at a neutral site, respectively, with a pair of 3-1 contests in Beantown as well as including the last meeting, Sept. 23, 2021. 
  • Just two battles went the distance. One was played at RWU and the other was at a neutral site.
