BOSTON – Suffolk volleyball pulls the curtain back on its Commonwealth Coast Conference calendar Saturday, Sept. 23 with a trip to Nichols. First serve is scheduled for 12 p.m.

Suffolk volleyball saw its five-match win streak come to an end Tuesday night as Eastern Nazarene took down the Rams, 3-1, at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court.

CCC OPENERS

• Suffolk is 0-2 in its first CCC contest of the year. 
• The Rams fell in their inaugural CCC contest, 3-1, to Roger Williams in 2021, before slipping to Gordon by an identical margin to get the 2022 conference calendar going. 
• Suffolk will open its CCC campaign on the road for the second straight season. 
• Suffolk will face Nichols in its first CCC battle of the year for the first time.  

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk sits .500 with an even 6-6 ledger.  

McKenna Keowen's 2.49 kps leads Suffolk's 10.72 kps attack that is set up by Jayla Martinez (4.59 aps) and Aislinn Lanigan (3.50 aps). Morgan Kelsey paces the pack from the service line with 0.75 aces per set. 

Kelsey is the backbone of the defense with 4.30 dps. Keowen supplies 3.13 dps to the defense that receives 0.70 bps from Sami Shore.   

BISON BREAKDOWN
Nichols opened the year with nine straight victories, but fell in two straight battles, to bring a 9-2 record into Saturday's showdown.  

Haylee Granato leads the Bison's attack with 3.31 dps. Luna Colozzo and Ryley Plourde produce over 2.00 kps as well with 2.39 kps and 2.06 kps, respectively. Kya Burdier carries the bulk workload of Nichols' setter with 6.67 aps to her credit. 

Defensively, Liz Diorio leads the way with 5.82 dps. Granato pitches in 3.29 dps and Maille Ianniruberto chips in 0.53 bps.  

INSIDE THE SERIES

• The Suffolk, Nichols series began in 2021. 
• The Rams are 1-1 all-time against the Bison. 
• In the first-ever meeting, Sept. 30, 2021, Suffolk fell to Nichols in Dudley, Massachusetts in five sets.
