BOSTON – On a three-match win streak, Suffolk volleyball turns its attention to its first home tri-match of the season that features Keene State and Worcester State Saturday, Sept. 16. The Rams will start day against the Owls at 11 a.m. and wrap up action at 3 p.m. versus the Lancers.

Suffolk volleyball wrapped up its third straight victory with a 3-0 over Dean Thursday Night at Pieri Gymnasium.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk is on a three-match win streak to carry a 4-5 record into Saturday's play.  

McKenna Keowen and Jessica Weber pace the Rams' attack with 2.38 kps and 2.29 kps respectively. Jayla Martinez dishes out 4.62 assists per set with Aislinn Lanigan handing out 3.27 assists per set. Morgan Kelsey is a threat at the service line with 0.73 aces per set. 

Kelsey anchors the defensive unit with 4.00 dps. Keowen adds 3.34 dps to the defense that receives 0.60 bps by Sami Shore

OWLS OUTLOOK
Keene State snapped a four-match skid Tuesday with a 3-1 victory against Westfield State to bring a 3-5 record into Saturday's action.  

The Owls offense is well-balanced with Jessica Timothy's 1.83 kps leading the way. Gigi Stake adds 1.64 kps and Stephanie Olah pitches in 1.59 kps. Alexis Small and Ainsley Hegg split the setting role with 3.87 assists per set and 3.00 assists per set, respectively.  

Defensively, Reagan Fleming paces the pack with 3.77 dps. Stake pitches in 2.54 dps. Annaliese Rudberg and Molly Wetherbee are forces at the net with 0.67 bps and 0.62 bps, respectively. 

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk and Keene State will meet for the third time dating back to 2003. 
  • The Rams are 0-2 all-time against the Owls. 
  • The teams will tangle for the first time since Oct. 19, 2019 when KSU swept Suffolk.

Worcester State sits 4-4 on the year and rides momentum from a 3-2 win at WPI into Saturday's tri-match.  

Beatrice Gamboa-Estrella's 2.00 kps leads the attack that receives 1.42 kps from Kate Stedronsky. Angela Colonis (3.71 assists per set) and Megan Bardis (2.45 assists per set) share the setter role.  

Camryn Burgio holds down the backline with 4.23 dps. Colonis pitches in 2.29 dps and Cassie Millea adds 2.13 dps.

  • Suffolk and Worcester State renew a rivalry, meeting for the first time since 2011.
