BOSTON – Suffolk volleyball takes its six-match win streak into its Tuesday, Sept. 20 tilt at Gordon. The Rams will pull the curtain back on their CCC calendar against the Fighting Scots at 7 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk volleyball racked up its sixth straight victory, a straight set victory over Southern Maine, Saturday afternoon at Hill Gymnasium. The Rams triumph came via set scores 25-19, 25-16 and 25-12.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk has been red hot as of late with six wins in a row, capped off the by program's first-ever victory over Southern Maine (3-0) Saturday, to head into Tuesday's action 8-2 on the season. All, but one of the Rams' outings in 2022 have been decided via straight sets. 

McKenna Keowen is an offensive and defensive force for the blue-and-gold. The sophomore leads the attack with 3.39 kps and is second on the squad in digs, 2.09 dps. Jess Weber (3.33 kps) and Grace Cervenka (2.40 kps) are constants in the attack conversation. Harmony Johnson has taken on the bulk of the setter's role with 7.11 aps with Jayla Martinez supplying 4.33 aps. Morgan Kelsey is the biggest serving threat in the CCC with 1.39 aces per set.

Kenzley Bell's 4.34 dps anchors Suffolk's defense that receives 0.57 bps from Cervenka.

FIGHTING SCOTS FACTS
Gordon fell to Eastern Nazarene Saturday, 3-0, to move to 3-6 on the season. 

Annie Murphy and Valerie Nilan are responsible for 50 percent of the Fighting Scots' 9.00 kps. The former leads the way with 2.41 kps with the latter supplying 2.25 kps. Kate Howe, who leads the defensive unit with 2.77 dps, sets up Gordon's attack with 7.39 aps.

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • The Rams trail the all-time series, 2-8, and have fallen in six straight against the Fighting Scots.
  • Both of the blue-and-gold's victories over Gordon came in straight sets in 2010 and 2013, respectively.
  • Seven matches were decided in sweeps. Suffolk is 2-5 in such decisions.
  • A pair of battles went the distance with the Fighting Scots winning both 3-2 outings.
  • Suffolk and Gordon went to four sets once, in 2011, which the Fighting Scots won.
