BOSTON – Suffolk volleyball caps off its regular-season, its first in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), Saturday, Oct. 30 when it heads to Salve Regina for a 1 p.m. conference contest.

SUFFOLK ATHLETICS 2021-22 FAN POLICY
Suffolk University Athletics, following guidance from the University's health and safety protocols, Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), Centers for Disease Control and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, plans to allow fans to attend home athletic contests during the 2021-22 academic and athletic year.

Fans, whether vaccinated or unvaccinated, can attend games. They must be masked the entire time they are on campus, pursuant to institutional policy, and complete a health screening form at the security desk of each building upon arrival. This policy applies to home contests played on campus at the Ridgeway Building's Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court, as well as the Emmons Horrigan O'Neil Memorial Rink and the Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink.

For outdoor outings, specifically at East Boston Memorial Park, fans are asked to respect COVID safety protocols. At this time, masks will not be mandated for fans no matter vaccinated status at outdoor venues.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk volleyball put an exclamation point on its home regular-season slate as the Rams swept Curry Wednesday night at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court. The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) victory came by set scores 25-10, 25-21 and 25-22.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk swept Curry Wednesday to move to 11-15 on the year and 3-5 in CCC outings. 

McKenna Keowen has led the Rams' attack all season long and the freshman outside hitter has proven to be one of the biggest offensive threats in the league with 3.49 kps. She also adds 2.39 dps to the defense. Alina Nowakowski is a two-way player as well with 1.90 kps to go along with a team-best 0.69 bps. Morgan Kelsey adds 0.97 aces per set to the offense and 2.45 dps to the defense that is primarily paced by Kenzley Bell's 3.91 dps. 

Harmony Johnson and Jayla Martinez continue to set up Suffolk's 10.34 kps attack with 5.07 aps and 3.83 aps, respectively.

SEAHAWKS SAYINGS
Salve Regina slipped in straight sets to Roger Williams Wednesday to bring a 13-9 overall mark and 5-3 league ledger into Saturday's showdown. 

Nicole Karabaich's 3.40 kps is anchoring the Seahawks' attack with Brighton Solheim (2.74 kps) and Madison Lee (2.70 kps) averaging well over 2.00 kps also. Katelyn O'Brien has held down the setter role with 8.51 aps.

Defensively, Kate Murphy leads the way with 4.40 dps. Lee adds 2.69 dps and Meaghan Corkery provides 0.56 bps at the net.

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk and Salve Regina will meet for the second time overall, first since Aug. 31, 2013.
  • The Seahawks won the first and only battle in straight sets.
  • Suffolk's and SRU's only meeting took place on neutral hardwood.
