BOSTON – Suffolk volleyball wraps up its non-league schedule tonight, Monday, Oct. 25 with a cross city rivalry match against Emmanuel. First serve at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court is scheduled for 7 p.m.

SUFFOLK ATHLETICS 2021-22 FAN POLICY
Suffolk University Athletics, following guidance from the University's health and safety protocols, Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), Centers for Disease Control and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, plans to allow fans to attend home athletic contests during the 2021-22 academic and athletic year.

Fans, whether vaccinated or unvaccinated, can attend games. They must be masked the entire time they are on campus, pursuant to institutional policy, and complete a health screening form at the security desk of each building upon arrival. This policy applies to home contests played on campus at the Ridgeway Building's Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court, as well as the Emmons Horrigan O'Neil Memorial Rink and the Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink.

For outdoor outings, specifically at East Boston Memorial Park, fans are asked to respect COVID safety protocols. At this time, masks will not be mandated for fans no matter vaccinated status at outdoor venues.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk volleyball wrapped up its home tri-match Saturday afternoon with a 3-1 victory over Fitchburg State at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk splits its home tri-match on Saturday with a 3-0 loss to Gordon and a 3-1 win over Fitchburg State to move to 9-15 on the season. 

The Rams' 10.17 kps offense is powered by McKenna Keowen's 3.40 kps. The rookie owns a .226 attack percentage and adds on the defensive end as well with 2.28 dps. Sophomore Jasmine James and Julia Leavey provide 1.92 kps and 1.50 kps, respectively. Harmony Johnson (4.91 aps) and Jayla Martinez (3.84 aps) split time as Suffolk's setter. 

Kenzley Bell anchors the defense with 3.89 dps. Morgan Kelsey adds 2.55 dps and Alina Nowakowski chips in 0.68 bps.

SAINTS SAYINGS
Emmanuel slipped in back-to-back matches in straight sets to dip to 8-15 on the year. 

Anna Caristi's 2.17 kps holds down the Saints' 8.93 kps attack with Seane Phillips providing 1.73 kps. Rachel Coleman plays most of the time as Emmanuel's setter with 6.39 aps. Brigid Moriarty helps set up the offense as well with 3.45 aps.

The Saints defense is paced by Tatiana Correira's 3.88 dps with Caitlin Tannian adding 2.12 dps and Caristi's 0.62 bps leading the way at the net.

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk has strung three wins in a row against Emmanuel to move to 3-15 all-time versus the Saints since 2003.
  • The foes went to five sets in the last two outings, both of which the blue-and-gold won.
  • The Rams defeated Emmanuel in straight sets once, in 2017, while the Saints have swept the Rams 12 times.
  • In four set matches versus the Saints, Suffolk is 0-3.
