BOSTON – Two wins away from a program record, Suffolk volleyball takes its talents to West Hartford, Connecticut, for a GNAC tri-match at Saint Joseph (Conn.) featuring Rivier Saturday, Oct. 26. The Rams will first take on the hosts Blue Jays at 11 a.m., before wrapping up the day against the Raiders at 1 p.m.

BENCH PRESS FOR BREAST CANCER
Members of Ram Nation are asked to pull their weight in an effort to take the load off of those affected by breast cancer in Suffolk Athletics' Bench Press for Breast Cancer event Tuesday, Oct. 29 from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Suffolk volleyball saw a pair of personal-bests and double-double performances in a 3-1 victory over Regis Wednesday night at the Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk captured its 17th victory of the season Wednesday night with a four-set victory over Regis to improve to 17-8 on the year and 7-1 in GNAC play.  

The junior class of Hannah Fabiano (2.97 kps, 2.05 kps) andKayla Barbera (2.20 kps, 2.16 kps) are consistent contributors. Harmony Johnson supplies the assists to Suffolk's 10.27 kps offense with 8.05 aps to her credit.  

Kenzley Belland Dakhensey Marcellus are the crucial ingredients to the defense with 3.73 dps and 3.63 dps, respectively. Stephanie Rheaume (0.52 bps) and Sarah Mullahy (0.45 bps) lead the way at the net.  

BLUE JAYS BREAKDOWN
Saint Joseph (Conn.) took a 3-1 win over Albertus Magnus Wednesday night to move to 9-12 on the season and 2-8 in conference contests.  

A trio paces the offensive contingent average over 2.00 kps in Shannon Carey (2.71 kps), Aminah Tsonga (2.63 kps) and Hannah Benson (2.12 kps). Nyah Young has handled the setting responsibilities for the Blue Jays, as the freshman dishes out 6.17 aps.  

Natalia Rabassa paces the defense with 4.12 dps with the offensive leaders Tsonga and Benson chipping in 2.92 dps and 2.27 dps, respectively. 

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk owns a 12-4 series lead over St. Joseph (Conn.) dating back to 2003. 
  • The Rams have won three straight versus the Blue Jays. 
  • When playing in straight sets versus USJ, Suffolk is 7-3, and is undefeated (3-0) if the match is decided in four frames. 
  • Five set thrillers are also in favor of the blue-and-gold, 2-1.

RAIDERS REVIEW
Rivier saw a four-match win streak come to a halt Tuesday night in a five-set setback to nationally ranked Johnson & Wales. The Raiders, who hold a 17-6 overall record and 5-2 league mark, will head to Emerson Thursday, Oct. 24 before making the trip to Connecticut Saturday.  

Sydney Racevicis' 3.15 anchor the Raiders 12.22 kps offense that sees 2.94 kps from Taylor Dunster and 2.87 kps by Jess Whyte. Avery Pollard is one of the best setters in the league with 10.14 aps on her stat line.  

Dunster is the defensive leader with 3.55 dps. Olivia Garand provides 3.26 dps and Julia Zargaj knocks down 0.68 bps. 

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk has yet to defeat the raiders in the all-time series dating back to 2003. 
  • Rivier leads the all-time meetings, 17-0. 
  • 14 of the 17 meetings have been decided in straight sets with the other trio going four sets, including last season's tilt.
