BOSTON – After a week away from GNAC play, Suffolk volleyball returns to the friendly confines of the Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court Wednesday, Oct. 23 when it clashes with conference foe Regis at 7 p.m.

BENCH PRESS FOR BREAST CANCER
Members of Ram Nation are asked to pull their weight in an effort to take the load off of those affected by breast cancer in Suffolk Athletics' Bench Press for Breast Cancer event Tuesday, Oct. 29 from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk volleyball suffered its first Saturday loss since August by the hands of Keene State. The Owls defeated the Rams in straight sets via scores 25-19, 25-15 and 25-13.

RAMS REVIEW
Suffolk went 1-2 during its league break to head into the midweek match 16-8 on the year. In conference action, the Rams are 6-1 with their lone loss coming to then-No. 17 Johnson & Wales.   

Hannah Fabiano is a contributor on both sides of the net with 2.97 kps and 2.00 dps. The junior anchors the 10.09 kps offense that receives 2.04 kps from Kayla Barbera with Sarah Mullahy adding 1.80 kps. Harmony Johnson has held down the setting duties with 7.83 aps. 

Kenzley Bell paces the defense with 3.71 dps with Dakhensey Marcellus chipping in 3.52 dps. At the net, Stephanie Rheaume's 0.48 bps leads the way and Mullahy pitches in 0.47 bps. 

PRIDE POINTS
Regis spent the weekend away from GNAC play as well with a tri-match against Wentworth (L, 3-1) and Southern Maine (3-0) that put the Pride at 9-14 on the year. Regis' last league match was a 3-1 victory over Saint Joseph's (Maine) October 16 that leveled its record at 3-3.  

Katryna Veasey's 3.00 kps leads the way for the Pride's 10.27 kps offense. Valerie Whalen and Lauren Butt register 1.89 kps and 1.71 kps, respectively. Tori Ondris (4.72 aps) and Emily Fagundo (3.73 aps) have split setting duties.  

Mica van der Meulen holds down the defensive unit with 3.77 dps. Veasey records 2.84 dps and Butt tallies 0.94 bps. 

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk leveled the playing field at 7-7 against Regis in the all-time series that dates back to 1997 with a 3-1 win over the Pride a year ago.

Suffolk is back on the road this weekend when it heads to West Hartford, Connecticut, for a tri-match at Saint Joseph (Conn.) featuring Rivier. The Rams will first play the hosts at 11 a.m., before concluding the day against the Raiders at 1 p.m.
