BOSTON – The Suffolk women's volleyball team wraps up its home tri-season slate Saturday, Oct. 13 when it entertains Anna Maria and Curry. The Rams get the action going at 12 p.m. against the AMCATs with the day wrapping up at 4 p.m. with the blue-and-gold pitted versus the Colonels.

LAST TIME OUT
Talia Lombardo sealed her spot as Suffolk volleyball's all-time greatest threat at the service line to lead the Rams past the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) in straight sets Wednesday night at Regan Gymnasium.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Thanks to its straight set win over USJ Wednesday night, Suffolk moved into seventh place in the GNAC standings with a 3-3 league ledger and a 5-12 overall mark. 

The Rams' offense is buoyed by sophomores Hannah Fabiano (2.26 kps) and Kayla Barbera (2.17 kps), who each provide over 2.00 kps. Chidera Nwankwo (1.81 kps) and Bridget Allison (1.60 kps) are also consistent contributors to the offense, which is set up by senior Talia Lombardo's 7.45 assists per set.

Defensively, Dakhensey Marcellus lead the way with 4.48 dps with Barbera and Emma Feeney adding 2.38 dps and 2.32 dps, respectively.

ABOUT THE AMCATS
Anna Maria (3-18) is out of playoff contention and is the lone league foe that remains winless in conference contest at 0-7. 

Not a single attacker averages over 1.00 kps. Sarah Lathrop leads the way offensively with 0.94 kps with the senior outside hitter also the second-best source to the defense with 2.03 dps. Hannah Mitchell (0.86 kps) and Taylor Hoffstedt (0.79 kps) add to the offense. Julia Ramos handles the setting responsibilities for Anna Maria as the freshman averages 2.77 assists per set. Victoria Falco holds down the defensive unit with 3.15 dps.

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk gained a 4-3 edge in the all-time series with Anna Maria, which started in 2011, last year with a sweep of the AMCATs.
  • All seven meetings have been decided in straight sets.

EYES ON THE MATCH

COLONELS CATCHUP
Curry (4-13) enters the weekend on a three-match skid with its latest setback coming in four sets at Emerson Oct. 11. Prior to taking on Suffolk at 4 p.m., the Colonels open Saturday's tri-match at 2 p.m. against Anna Maria. 

Lexi Pereira's 2.97 kps paces the pack for the Colonels with Amanda Wood also achieving over 2.00 kps with 2.25 kps to her credit. Alexis Bell has served as the primary setter for Curry this season with the junior boasting 7.80 assist per set.

Bell and Jordyn Keith anchor the defense with 2.98 dps and 2.97 dps, respectively.
