Suffolk volleyball wrapped up regular season action Saturday as the Rams slipped to Simmons before taking down the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) at the Blue Jays' O'Connell Athletic Center. Both GNAC matches were decided in four sets.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk put together the most victories (13-15) since 2013 and went 6-6 versus league foes, marking the most conference wins since 2005 (8) to take the seventh seed in the GNAC Tournament's field. The Rams snapped an eight-match skid Saturday afternoon in the regular season finale with a 3-1 win at Saint Joseph (Conn.).
Throughout the season, the Rams have relied on well-balanced scoring and the all-around play from freshman Hannah Fabiano and junior Talia Lombardo. Fabiano (2.68 kps) leads the way offensively as the lone Ram producing over 2.00 kps to go along with 2.56 dps and 0.41 bps on the defensive side of play. Lombardo, meanwhile, is second on the squad with 1.88 kps and adds 1.60 assists per set and 0.76 aces per set to the offense and 2.35 dps to the defense.
Liz Kerek and Rachel Fancy have split time as Suffolk's setter dishing out 6.37 aps and 4.10 aps, respectively. Libero Dakhensey Marcellus paces the pack defensively with 3.26 dps to her credit.
SHARKS SAYINGS
Simmons (19-9) kept its October unbeaten record in tact as the Sharks swept the tri-match at the University of Saint Joseph by sweeping the Blue Jays and defeating the Rams, 3-1. Simmons locked up the second seed thanks to its current 10-match win streak, with all, but a pair of victories coming in straight sets.
Morgan Weeg's impressive 4.27 kps on a .268 hitting clip leads the way offensively with Jarene Harberts (3.02 kps) and Riley Roberge (1.62 kps) pitching into the effort. The Sharks' 11.42 kps is set up by both Kenna McCarthy (4.69 aps) and Faith Gray-Williams (4.29 aps).
Defensively, Julia Fusco paces the pack with 3.57 dps with Harberts (2.05 dps) and Alexandra Erk Thompson (0.50 dps) contributing to the effort.
INSIDE THE SERIES
- Since picking up four straight wins to straight the series (dating back to 2003), Suffolk has only won a pair over the last 10 years to trail Simmons all-time, 5-10.
- The Sharks have won the last seven meetings with the Rams including a 3-1 win Oct. 27.
- In three set matches Suffolk is 2-5 with the Rams owning a 3-5 record when taking Simmons to four sets.
- The Suffolk, Simmons series has never gone to five sets according to the Rams' record book, which dates back to 2003.
- In the GNAC Tournament, Suffolk and Simmons have met just once, in 1999 when the third-seeded Sharks defeated the sixth-seeded Rams, 3-2.
EYES ON THE MATCH
RAMS IN THE GNAC TOURNAMENT
Tuesday's tilt marks the 11th postseason trip for Suffolk and second straight. The back-to-back GNAC Tournament appearances is a first for the Rams since vying for the conference crown for eight straight seasons 1999-06.
Suffolk will make its fourth appearance as the seventh seed and first since 2006. The Rams have yet to find the win column in the league tournament and look to make history Tuesday night.
