BOSTON –  The Suffolk volleyball team looks to return to the win column Wednesday, Sept. 27 when the Rams welcome Boston and GNAC rival Emmanuel to Regan Gymnasium. First serve in Beacon Hill is set for 7 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Suffolk volleyball team dropped a straight set decision to GNAC powerhouse Johnson & Wales Saturday afternoon as part of a conference tri-match at Rivier's Muldooon Gymnasium.

RAMS RUNDOWN
After being swept by both Rivier and Johnson & Wales in  a GNAC tri-match Saturday, Suffolk slipped under .500 on the year to 5-6 overall and 0-2 versus conference competition. 

Hannah Fabiano's 2.61 kps on a .295 attack percentage leads Suffolk's attack, which receives 1.85 kps from Talia Lombardo and 1.45 kps from Kayla Barbera. Liz Kerek sets up the Rams' offense with 4.60 aps. 

Dakhensey Marcellus' 2.43 dps hold down the Rams' defense, which receives 2.28 dps and 0.39 bps from Fabiano.

SAINTS SAYINGS
Emmanuel moved to 4-7 overall and unbeaten against conference competition after a 3-2 thriller victory at Norwich Saturday. 

Mary Shelow's impressive 3.54 kps anchors the Saints' 9.18 kps attack with the junior outside hitter hitting .318. Marissa Cataldo and Alexandra Mezzo chip in 1.74 kps and 1.67 kps, respectively. Carly Church has served as Emmanuel's primary setter, dishing out 7.15 assist per set. 

The Saints defense is led by Katharine Journeaqy's 4.67 dps with Casey Sheehan (2.33 dps) and Emily Hanson (2.15 dps) contributing to the effort.

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk looks for its first win in the all-time series dating back to 2003. The Rams currently trail the Saints,  15-0.
  • Emmanuel has swept the Rams in 12 of its 15 wins.
  • A match between the blue and gold and Saints has never gone further than four sets.
  • Suffolk has only won one set versus the Saints on three occasions; 2012, 2009 and 2004.

Suffolk makes the trek to New Haven, Connecticut Saturday, Sept. 30 for a GNAC tri-match at Albertus Magnus. The Rams will get the league action underway versus Anna Maria at 1 p.m., and take on the hosts Falcons afterwards at 3 p.m.
