Volleyball Rolls to 3-1 Victory on Saturday

The Suffolk University Women's Volleyball team collected a 3-1 victory over the Salem State University Vikings on Saturday afternoon at the Regan Gymnasium.

Junior Sarah Arbogast (Chesterfield, Mo.) and freshman Erica Begin (Windham, N.H.) each had eight kills in the four match contest.

After dropping game one 25-21 the Rams would win their next three matches to improve to a 4-5 overall mark on the season while the loss moves the Vikings to 0-6 on the year. Suffolk won game two in extra sets with a 27-25 victory before rounding out the match with 25-19 and 25-20 wins in the third and fourth sets to clinch it.

Sophomore Glamarys Sierra (Carolina, Puerto Rico) had 15 settings assists while senior Jennifer Duston (Nashua, N.H.) added 11 on the day.  Sophomore Tori Brillaud (North Andover, Mass.) recorded seven kills and had a team-high 31 digs on the defensive side.

Other notable performances were junior Hailey Atkinson (Branford, Conn.) who had a team-high three service aces along with eight digs and five kills, while junior Colbey Kennedy (Old Lyme, Conn.) picked up one service ace and 22 digs in the four match set.

The Rams will be back in action on Wednesday evening as they travel across the Boston Common to take on the Emerson College Lions in GNAC action at 7:00pm.
