Four Rams Represent Women’s Indoor Track & Field at BU’s David Hemery Valentine Invitational

BOSTON – A quartet of Rams from the Suffolk women's indoor track & field team took their talents across town Friday to compete at Boston University's David Hemery Valentine Invitational. 

Mariama Kamara, Emily Manfra and Emma Weisse participated in track events, while Allison Rodrigues tried her hands in the field events.

In the 60 meter dash, Kamara placed third in her second with a time of 8.19, which put the junior from Chelsea, Massachusetts, 20th overall in the field of 51. 

In long distance events, Manfra put together her second straight sub-5:00.00 mile, clocking in at 4:56.89. The time put the junior 45th overall out of 197 competitors. Weisse, meanwhile, ran the 3000 meters in 10:12.68 and placed 105th. 

Rodrigues tossed the shot put 10.84 meters a distance good enough for 26th out of the 41 student-athletes. 

Suffolk's indoor season continues today, Saturday, Feb. 9 at the Thomas Small School Open at Colby College.
