Manfra Sets Standard at John Terrier Classic

BOSTON – Emily Manfra of the Suffolk women's indoor track & field team posted a record-setting mile at Boston University's John Terrier Classic Friday afternoon.

Manfra, a junior from Stoneham, Massachusetts, finished the one-mile course with a time of 4:56.82 to be the first-ever Ram to notch a sub five-minute mile. The time, which was a five-second personal record, put Manfra in 12th place in the field of over 100, the best performance by a NCAA Division III competitor.

Suffolk will be back in action this weekend when it competes at Tufts' Cupid Challenge Friday, Feb. 1 and Boston University's Bruce Lehane Scarlet & White Saturday, Feb. 1.
