Manfra, Weisse Make History, Compete at NCAA DIII New England Championships

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Emily Manfra and Emma Weisse made history today as the Suffolk women's indoor track & field sophomores became the first-ever Rams to run at the NCAA Division III New England Championships hosted at Springfield College. 

The pair punched their tickets to the national tournaments with top performances at the Tufts Invite Jan. 13. 

Emma Weisse took the 500 M course with 23 competitors. Weisse's time of 18:48.54 put the Hamden, Massachusetts, product in 15th overall. Emily Manfra, meanwhile, ran in the 1000 M. Out of 21 competitors, the Stoneham, Massachusetts, native took 13th overall thanks to a time of 3:06.37. 

The championships wrapped up the inaugural season of Suffolk indoor track & field. The Rams now turned their sights on the outdoor season, which is set to open Saturday, March 24 at the Wesleyan Spring Classic.
