Women’s Tennis Falls at Rhode Island College, 9-0

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Suffolk women's tennis ventured out on the road for the first time in 2019, but the Rams trip to the Ocean State ended in a 9-0 decision in Rhode Island College's favor Wednesday afternoon at the RIC Tennis Center.

THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 0 | Rhode Island College 9
RECORDS: Suffolk (0-4) | Rhode Island College (5-0)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Rhode Island, who has only given up one point to an opponent this season, kept Suffolk off the scoreboard as well.

Doubles was over quickly as the Rams' second spot pair of Jordan Miller and Bianca Prescott managed to take just one point in their game against Grace Zanagari and Laurel Ten Eyck before falling, 8-1. The Anchormen's top tandem swept Suffolk's dynamic co-captain duo of Ilda Ascic and Kendall Smith and a blue-and-gold default from the third court quickly gave the hosts a 3-0 cushion.

On singles courts one through three the Anchormen cruised to golden matches.

Bianca Prescott notched just one point in the second game against Hailey Raskob at No. 4, while Alyssa Blade pieced together a 6-2, 6-1, fight versus Victoria Vittori, but neither freshmen Ram's racquet was able to prevail.
