BOSTON – Ilda Ascic of the Suffolk women's tennis team earned a spot on the All-GNAC singles second team after a standout freshman campaign, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Ascic anchored the Rams to their 11th consecutive conference tournament appearance as the Sarevo, Bosnia native held down the second spot in the singles line-up and teamed up with senior captain Delaney Dunlap to make up Suffolk's top tandem. 

In singles she put together the team's best record to 9-4 overall and 4-3 in conference contests. On the doubles court, Ascic and Dunlap partnered up for an 8-6 mark including a 4-3 record in league outings. 

Elena Cisneros Garcia wrapped up her collegiate career with her third consecutive GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team honor. The team was established by the conference to honor one player from each team in the conference for outstanding dedication to sportsmanship and for their portrayal of good sportsmanship, fair play and positive attitude. 

Since joining the GNAC in 2007, Suffolk has earned 49 All-GNAC nods including six player of the year, three rookie of the year, 15 first-team singles, seven second-team singles and eight second-team doubles.
