BOSTON – Riding momentum from its first victory of the season, the Suffolk women's tennis team turns its attention on its conference campaign as the Rams are set to get GNAC action going Saturday, Sept. 8 when they trek to Colby Sawyer. First serve in New London, New Hampshire, is set for 1 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Suffolk women's tennis team found its way in the win column Thursday night as the Rams cruised past Wentworth, 8-1, at the Winchester Tennis Center.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk split its first two matches of the year, falling in its season opener, 7-2, to Rhode Island College, before taking down Wentworth, 8-1, to move to .500 (1-1) on the young season.
Ilda Ascic has been flawless in her freshman debut as she boasts unbeaten marks in both singles (2-0) and doubles action (2-0). The Sarevo, Bosnia native has played exclusively in the second slot on the singles court and teamed up with senior Delaney Dunlap as the Rams' top tandem in each outing.
The doubles teams of Elena Cisneros Garcia and Meagan French, as well as Jordan Miller and Kendall Smith are also undefeated with 1-0 ledgers.
CHARGERS CATCHUP
Colby Sawyer, the GNAC preseason favorite, is off to a slow start this season. After downing Gordon College in its season opener, 6-3, the Chargers have dropped back-to-back matches against Nichols (8-1) and Southern New Hampshire (5-4) to sit 1-2 on the year.
A quartet of players boasts 2-1 singles records with Colby Sawyer ace Yashu Yang leading the foursome. Joining Yang with just one loss is Aislinn O'Connor from the third court, No. 4 Anna Kopituk and Hilary Boucher, who has played exclusively in the sixth spot.
The Chargers seem to struggle in doubles play with just three victories over their trio of contests. The three wins are scattered around three different tandems.
INSIDE THE SERIES
Since 2012, Suffolk holds a 5-1 record over Wentworth. The Rams have rattled off four wins over the Leopards including a 6-3 triumph last season.
