Medou Garners GNAC Corvias Player of the Week

BOSTON – Danyln Medou of the Suffolk women's tennis team picked up GNAC Corvias Player of the Week honors after the sophomore went unbeaten in singles and doubles action to help the Rams to a 2-1 week, the league office announced Monday afternoon. 

At the lower end of the lineup, Medou produced 3-0 records in both singles and doubles action to lead Suffolk. 

At Regis, Medou teamed up with freshman Ahilya Malhoutra for an 8-3 doubles victory on the third court, before producing a 6-2, 6-0, sixth spot singles win over the Pride's Sara Kanarkiewicz. 

The Inglewood, California, product followed that with an impressive showing against Lesley. In doubles action she partnered with Jacquelyn Nakamura on court three for an 8-6 triumph. At No. 5 singles, Medou put together a 6-1, 6-1, win over Lesley's Sara Stanton. 

Medou closed the week's action at Albertus Magnus where she and Nakamura combined racquets for yet another doubles win in the third position. This time defeating the Falcons Nallely Magana and Paige Williams , 8-2. She kept her singles streak going with a golden match versus Magana on court five to close out the week perfect. 

Medou, who is 5-2 on the season in singles play and 4-2 in doubles action this year, collected her first weekly honor of her collegiate career. She is the first Ram to be recognized by the conference this season as well. 

The Rams are back in action tonight, Monday, Oct. 2 as they take on Lesley in a rematch at Buckingham, Browne & Nichols. First serve is set for 7:30 p.m.
