Women's Tennis Top Emmanuel 5-4

Boston, Mass. -- The Suffolk University Women's Tennis team (2-2 overall, 2-1 GNAC) defeated the Emmanuel College Saints (2-3 overall, 1-2 GNAC) by a 5-4 margin on Wednesday evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action.

Junior Lauren Cameron (Kingston, Jamaica) earned two wins on the evening for the Rams. Cameron was a winner in the second singles position of Megan Harrington, 6-1, 6-1. Cameron and partner senior Alex Hernandez-Vallant (Newton, Mass.) teamed up for a 8-4 victory in the top doubles set.

Freshman Jane Skorobogatova was also a multiple winner on the evening for the Rams winning her singles match, 6-2, 6-2 in the third position and partnered with junior Rebecca Copeland (Bristol, R.I.) for a 8-6 victory in the second doubles match.

Freshman Georgia Ward (Exeter, R.I.) got the other Rams win a 6-4 victory in straight sets over Emily Resnevic in the sixth singles game.

Suffolk will be back in GNAC action again on Saturday as they host St. Joseph College (Conn.) at 4:00pm at Buckingham, Browne & Nichols.
