Providence, RI -- Junior Jaclyn Eastman (Mansfield, MA) was
perfect in a
straight set (6-0, 6-0) win at No. 2 singles to help lead the Rhode
Island
College women¹s tennis team to an 8-1 win over Suffolk on
Thursday afternoon
at the RIC Tennis Courts.
The win for the Anchorwomen snaps a two-match losing streak as
RIC
improves to 6-4 on the season. The Rams drop to 4-2.
Eastman paired with junior Brittany LaBarre (Greenville, RI) to
pick up an
8-5 win at No. 2 doubles as the hosts swept all of the paired
contests.
Eastman and LaBarre, along with freshmen Marissa Langellier
(Greenville, RI)
and Doris Belanger (West Warwick, RI), each won all of their
singles and
doubles matches on the day.
Suffolk junior Alex Hernandez-Vallant
(Newton, MA) earned the Rams lone win with a straight set (6-2,
6-1) at No. 1 singles.
Suffolk is back in action this Saturday as they take on Johnson & Wales in a GNAC match.
