Women’s Soccer Garners 12th Straight United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award

2019-20 United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award 

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the 12th consecutive campaign, Suffolk women's soccer achieved academic excellence and was recognized for it with a United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award, the national organization unveiled Thursday afternoon. 

Suffolk saw its name among the near 900 collegiate programs after reaching the required team GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale a year ago. The Rams have reached that feat each year dating back to 2008. For a full history of the award, click here

Among the three divisions 889 teams – 333 men, 556 women, took home the award, 172 of which saw both men's and women's programs recognized, Suffolk being one of them. The Rams were one of four GNAC programs on the list as Johnson & Wales, Regis and Saint Joseph's (Maine) earned the feat. Amongst their Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) counterparts, the blue-and-gold was joined by Curry, Endicott, Nichols and Roger Williams. 

Collectively, Ashley Van Vechten's squad combined for a 3.27 GPA over 2019-20.
