BENCH PRESS FOR BREAST CANCER
Members of Ram Nation are asked to pull their weight in an effort to take the load off of those affected by breast cancer in Suffolk Athletics' Bench Press for Breast Cancer event Tuesday, Oct. 29 from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk women's soccer scored twice in the first frame and held off the Blue Jays to take a 2-0 win over Saint Joseph (Conn.) Saturday afternoon at USJ Soccer Field.

RAMS REVIEW
With two games remaining on its regular season schedule, Suffolk sits in third place in the GNAC standings with a 7-3-0 league ledger and a 9-4-0 overall mark. 

Caleigh O'Brien anchors the Rams' 28-goal offense with team leading numbers in every offensive category with eight goals, five assists for 21 points. Addisyn LanzaJulia Hunt and Liv Hurley have each found the back of the net four times. Lanza is second on the squad in assists (3a) and points (11), while Hunt is third in points with a pair of assists to her credit.  

Allison Rodrigues has been a staple in net for Suffolk. The sophomore boasts an identical 9-4-0 record with a .847 save percentage and a 1.13 GAA. 

MONKS MENTIONABLES
Saint Joseph's has not fallen in October and currently rides a seven-game unbeaten streak into the midweek match that put the Monks at 11-2-2 on the year and 7-1-1 against GNAC foes. Of those seven outings, the Monks have kept five opponents off the scoreboard including the last three outings.  

SJC's 35-goal offense sees a trio of players with double digit points in McKenzie Murphy (7g, 4a), Ashley Emery (7g, 3a) and Madison Michaud (5g, 3a). Madeline Wood is on the cusp of double figures as well with nine points off three markers and three helpers.  

Adia Grogan is the Monks' go-to starter in net. Over 14 appearances, all starts, the goalkeeper has put together a 10-2-2 record behind a .873 save percentage and 0.71 GAA. Cori Balam has also played time between the posts for St. Joe's. In four games played, one start, she assembled a stat line of 1.00 save percentage and 0.00 GAA.   

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk looks for its first win over St. Joseph's (Maine) since 2010, as the Rams trail the all-time series, 1-10-2. 
  • The Rams' lone victory came in 2010 in a 6-2 decision. 
  • Suffolk is on a four-game skid versus the Monks including a 2-1 setback a year ago. 
  • There has been on shutout throughout the series. SJC took the cleansheet, 1-0, in 2009.
