Emmanuel Shutouts Women’s Soccer, 3-0

BOSTON – Suffolk women's soccer saw its win streak come to an end Saturday afternoon as the Rams fell to Emmanuel, 3-0, at Roberto Clemente Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Three first half goals over the span of 10 minutes lifted the Saints to victory.  

Hannah Sheskey got the scoring frenzy going with her second goal in as many games at the 20th minute marker. Th winger took advantage of a poor clear by the Suffolk backline and hit a one-time shot into the back of the frame to give Emmanuel the lead for good.  

Just 2:31 later Kayline Deschenes made it 2-0, finishing a direct kick into the upper third of the net from just outside the Rams' penalty area. 

The Saints added a third goal at 29:47 wwhen Paige White found Kennedy Davignon in a dangerous area and Davignon chipped one home to account for the 30- cushion at the midway mark of the first half.  

Emmanuel's backline made the three goals stand up, limiting the amount of scoring chances for Suffolk.  

KEEPING UP WITH THE KEEPERS

  • Allison Rodrigues had a five-save day despite the setback. 
  • Alyssa Curgnale put together a five-stop performance. 

STATISTICALLY SPEAKING

  • Emmanuel outshot Suffolk, 17-10, with an 8-5 edge in shots on target. 
  • The Rams had four corners compared to the Saints three.
