Women’s Soccer Puts Down Regis, 4-1

WESTON, Mass. – Suffolk women's soccer wrapped up its three-game road stretch with a 4-1 GNAC victory over Regis Saturday night at Regis Stadium.

THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 4 | Regis 1
RECORDS: Suffolk (5-2-0, 3-1-0 GNAC) | Regis (4-5-0, 1-2-0 GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Both keepers were put to the test early on. Allison Rodrigues turned aside the first four attempts she faced, while Regis' netminder Ori Attridge picked up the trio of shots she faced over the first 25 minutes.

The Rams gained an edge in the 31st minute behind a Pride own goal. That one-goal lead held as the teams headed into the intermission.

Seven minutes into the second half, Regis leveled the playing field as Kaylee Francis put away the rock with help from Payton Fitzgerald.

Things would not stayed tied for long, however, as Caleigh O'Brien's first goal of the day game 57 seconds after Francis' score. The junior's sixth goal of the season put the Rams in front for good.

Rodrigues was peppered with Pride attempts 10 minutes later. The sophomore stopped shots from Larissa Perez and Noelle Garcia, respectively, to hold onto the one-goal edge.

Another Rodrigues save was followed up by Suffolk's third score. This time Julia Hunt slipped the ball into the back of the net to extend the Rams' cushion to three with just over 15 minutes remaining on the clock.

O'Brien added more insurance to Suffolk with less than two minutes to play with her second goal of the conference contests for the final 4-1 margin.
