Women’s Soccer Claims 11th Straight USC Team Academic Award

2017-18 USC College Team Academic Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Suffolk women's soccer has picked up its 11th straight United State Coaches Team Academic Award Thursday morning as the national organization announced the recognition for exemplary performance in the classroom during the 2017-18 academic year.

The Rams have achieved the highest academic team honor since the inception of the program in 2007, achieving a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or higher in each of the last seasons over the past decade.

Across three divisions 773 teams – 289 men, 484 women – earned the Team Academic Award, including 191 institutions that had both their men's and women's programs among the recipients. Suffolk was one of the 191 with both its women's and men's squads each achieving the feat, the only GNAC institution to do so. It is the third time in Suffolk history that each of its soccer programs were recognized for their efforts inside the classroom and first since 2010.

Collectively, the Rams combined for 3.50 cumulative GPA. Suffolk was one of four GNAC women's teams to collect the nod with Emmanuel, Johnson & Wales and Regis joining the Rams on the list.
