Weiker Earns First GNAC Corvias Goalie of the Week Award of Career

BOSTON – Kirsten Weiker was named the GNAC Corvias Goalie of the Week after an 18-save and just one goal allowed 2-0 week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

This is the first GNAC weekly award of Weiker's career and first for the Rams this season.

Weiker opened the week with a 10-save effort in a 2-1 win over Emmanuel on Columbus Day. Through the first 45 minutes at Curry, the Durham, New Hampshire local, turned aside seven shots and followed that with a one-save effort in a 5-0 cleansheet against Mount Ida.

The sophomore keeper boasts a 6-4-0 record in net for Suffolk with five shutouts to her credit. She has 83 saves and a 1.95 goals-against average.

Weiker and the Rams return to action tonight as they close out the home portion of their schedule against Pine Manor. Game time at James A. Sartori Stadium at East Boston Memorial Park is scheduled for 7 p.m.
