Melissa Brouillette Named Corvais ECAC Defensive Player of the Week

For the second time in two weeks a Suffolk University Women's Soccer player earned weekly recognition by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC).

Senior Melissa Brouillette (Shelton, Conn.) was named ECAC Corvais Defensive Player of the Week for the Division-III New England region.

Brouillette was tabbed as the region's top defender after she recorded her 18th career shutout with 10 saves in a 1-0 victory over Rivier University on Saturday in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action. The senior netminder also pushed aside 12 shots in their 2-1 victory over Johnson & Wales University earlier in the week on Wednesday.

For her efforts Brouillette was also named GNAC Goalie of the Week as she and fellow teammate freshman Jessica Harmon (Huntington Beach, Calif.) earned conference recognition for their performances. Harmon notched her third consecutive multi-goal game on Wednesday to earn the weekly award for best first-year player. She was named ECAC Corvais Rookie of the Week last week.

Suffolk will continue their five game road trip on Sunday morning as they visit Simmons College in GNAC action at 11:00am. They will round out the regular season in their home finale on Saturday October 25th at 8:00pm. Suffolk will take on Anna Maria College at Dilboy Stadium as part of senior night.
