Miranda's Fourth Career Hat Trick Propels Women's Soccer

Senior Taylor Miranda (Smithtown, N.Y.) notched her fourth career hat trick to lead the Suffolk University Women's Soccer team past the Norwich University Cadets in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) by a 5-0 score on Saturday.

Miranda finished the evening with three goals and a pair of assists as she had in a hand in each of Suffolk's goals on the evening as they improve to a 5-7 overall mark and are now winners of four of their last five GNAC contests.

Suffolk opened the scoring in the first half with one of their three goals in the period as Miranda took a feed from freshman Madison Shea (Chepachet, R.I.) in the games eighteenth minute.

Senior Garbielle Balestrier (Mohnton, Pa.) and sophomore Alicia Villett (Peabody, Mass.) would convert on setups by Miranda later in the half to build the Rams lead to 3-0 heading into the break.

Miranda would add her second goal of the evening in the game's sixty-third minute as she scored unassisted. Thesenior forward would put home her team leading ninth goal of the season, and fifth in two games as she converted on a feed by Balestrier in the seventy-fourth minute of the contest.

Junior Melissa Brouillette (Shelton, Conn.) made just two saves in goal as the Rams controlled much of the offensive pace of the game holding a 22-3 edge in shot during the contest.

Senior Allison Hull (South Royalton, Vt.) made 11 saves in net for the Cadets on the evening.

Both teams will be back in GNAC action on Monday afternoon. Norwich will travel to Lasell College for a 3:30pm matchup with the Lasers, while Suffolk hosts Albertus Magnus College at 2:00pm.
