Women's Soccer Roll to 3-0 Victory

The Suffolk University Women's Soccer team cruised to a 3-0 victory in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Saturday afternoon over the Anna Maria College AMCATS.

The Rams scored three second half goals as part of an offensive attack that saw them outshoot Anna Maria 35-3 in the contest.

Senior Taylor Miranda (Smithtown, N.Y.) netted her team leading third goal of the season three minutes into the second half for all Suffolk would need as she converted a cross pass from sophomore Binglei Zhou (Shanghai, China).

Junior Katherine Cote (Attleboro, Mass.) added a goal at the sixty-three minute marker with an assist by freshman Alicia Villett (Peabody, Mass.).

Freshman Samantha Burkholder (Toledo, Ohio) would cap off the scoring with her first career collegiate goal coming seventy-two minutes into regulation for the three nothing edge. Burkholder put in the insurance goal on a feed from junior Hannah McNulty (Stowe, Vt.).

Junior Melissa Brouillette (Shelton, Conn.) needed to make just three saves for the shutout as the Rams move to 2-1 in conference action on the season.

Suffolk will be back on the pitch on Wednesday afternoon as they travel to St. Joseph College for a 4:00pm GNAC matchup.
