BOSTON – Suffolkwomen's hockey turns its attention to the upcoming weekend of action where the Rams are scheduled to step out of NEHC play and host Nichols Friday, Nov. 22 before traveling to Johnson & Wales the following day. 

Friday's action is scheduled to start at 7:45 p.m. in Eastie at the Louie E. Porazzo Skating Rink with the Saturday Nov. 23 showdown set for 6:55 p.m. at Lynch Arena in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.

LAST TIME OUT
Sydney Tietz sniped the game-winning shot at the midway point of the third period to lift Suffolk women's hockey to a 2-1 victory over UMass Boston Saturday afternoon at the Edward T. Barry Rink.

RAMS REVIEW
Suffolk brings in a 2-3-1 overall mark and a 2-1-1 league ledger after defeating UMass Boston on Saturday.  

Shana Cote continues to pace the Rams' eight-goal offense, scoring three goals and registering two handouts. Maddy Burton isn't far behind her with four points on one goal and a team-best three assists.  

Kristen Caporusso and Julia McLellan have shared time in between the pipes. Caporusso owns both of the blue-and-gold wins in net as the junior maintains a 1.42 GAA and .943 save percentage. McLellan holds a .897 save percentage and a 3.04 GAA in four appearances.  

BISON BREAKDOWN
Nichols sits at 0-5-1 on the year. The Bison head into the weekend after going 0-1-1 in a two-game series with the University of New England last weekend.  

Mel McAleer is the only skater with multiple goals to her credit with a team-high three, while Sarah Zeidan, Kaci Johnson, and Jessica Gossas-Moberg have each found the back of the net once. McAleer has handed out one helper to lead the team in points (4). Zeidan and Johnson, meanwhile, have set-up two shots each to share squad on the squad in points (3).  

Nichols has used three goaltenders this year in Stephanie Runicman (2.96 GAA, .931 save percentage), Julia Carroll (4.00 GAA, .911 save percentage) and Abby Bassett (3.25 GAA, .908 save percentage. 

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk dropped both games in the regular season series against Nichols last year. 
  • The Rams look for their first-ever win against the Bison. 
  • In the last meeting, Oct. 27, 2018, Suffolk fell 2-1, in Boston. 

EYES ON THE GAME
 

WILDCAT WAYS
Johnson & Wales has won three of its last four, including a convincing 5-2 victory over NEHC foe Salem State to put the Wildcats at 3-1-1 on the year and 2-0 against league competition. Prior to hosting Suffolk Saturday, JWU will entertain Southern Maine Friday, Nov. 22.  

Koryn Russell is the main threat for the Wildcats' 16-goal attack with six strikes on the season. Hannah Tracy, meanwhile, holds a team-high six points on four assists and a pair of markers.   

Jasmine Mucci has played every minute in net for the Wildcats. She holds a .915 save percentage and a 2.95 GAA. 

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • The Rams swept the Wildcats in the regular-season series last year to boast a 2-0-0 record against Johnson & Wales. 
  • Suffolk cruised to a 4-1 over JWU in their last meeting on Nov. 16. 2018. 
  • Overall, the blue-and-gold has outscored Johnson & Wales 7-1.
