BOSTON – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) Quarterfinals pits second-seeded Suffolk women's hockey against seventh-seeded UMass Boston Saturday, Feb. 16. The Rams welcome the Beacons to Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink for a 7:30 p.m. puck drop.

A Plymouth State power play goals with less than five minutes remaining broke a 2-all tie and proved to be the difference as Suffolk women's hockey could not rally and fell to the Panthers, 3-2, Saturday afternoon in its regular-season closer at Hanaway Rink.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk finished its first varsity season 15-8-2 overall and 10-4-2 against conference counterparts to sit in second-place in the league standings.
Tess Adams has anchored Suffolk to its success this season. The senior has eclipsed the 30-point mark with a team-high 17 goals to go along with 14 helpers. Shana Cote, in her rookie season, has produced 25 points on a squad-best 17 assists and eight markers. The twosome are responsible for 35.9 percent (56-156) of Suffolk's points, 35.2 percent (25-71) of the Rams' goals and 36.5 percent of the blue-and-gold's assists (31-85).
Kristen Caporusso has backstopped Suffolk to each of its 15 victories this year. The sophomore goaltender holds a 1.71 GAA and a .929 save percentage.
BEACONS BREAKDOWN
UMass Boston has yet to find the win column in the month of February to end the regular-season on a three-game skid and slip to 9-14-2 on the year and 5-9-2 in league action, good for seventh place in the standings.
Five different players have produced double figures in points this season to be the main force for the Beacons' 49-goal offense. Jane Morrisette's 17 points leads the way as the senior forward is the only skater to have found the back of the net 10 times. Katie Leffler's 15 points are good for second on the squad, while Cailey Kozich (4g, 8a) and Edy Moritz (8g, 4a) share the third spot with 12 points apiece.
In net, Alyssa DePippo has taken on the bulk of the work and has put together a .907 save percentage and a 1.83 GAA through 16 games and 15 starts. Caty Flagg, meanwhile, has nine starts to her credit and holds a .931 save percentage and a 1.98 GAA.
WE MEET AGAIN
Suffolk played it's first-ever overtime game in its first meeting with the Beacons Nov. 17. The Rams came back from a two-goal deficit to force the extra session, which did not see either side find the back of the net to end in a 2-2 stalemate.
When the Beacons stopped by Eastie, the blue-and-gold poured in three unanswered strikes to take down UMass, 3-1, for the first victory in the all-time series.
