Caporusso Collects Third NEHC Goaltender of the Week

BOSTON – For the third time this season, Kristen Caporusso of the Suffolk women's hockey team was tabbed NEHC Goaltender of the Week after backstopping the Rams to a 2-1 week.

Over the three non-conference bouts, the Stouffville, Ontario native notched 92 saves and a .969 save percentage.

Caporusso opened the week with a 29-save effort in a 2-0 setback to Division II foe Franklin Pierce. The sophomore followed that with back-to-back 32-save performances in a weekend sweep at the University of New England including a shutout performance on Friday, Jan. 11.

The weekly accolade is the third of Caporusso's career and the sixth overall honor for Suffolk this season with Shana Cote, Payton Dockus and Haley Poloskey all garnering the title of best rookie over a seven day stretch in the first three weeks of the Rams' season.

Caporusso and Suffolk are back in action tomorrow, Tuesday, Jan. 15 when they travel to Becker to wrap up non-conference competition. Puck drop at the Fidelity Ice Center is set for 7:05 p.m.
