Caporusso Collects NEHC Goaltender of the Week, Again

BOSTON – For the second time in her career, Kristen Caporusso of the Suffolk women's hockey team earned New England Hockey Conference Goaltender of the Week after backstopping the Rams to a pair of league victories, the conference office announced Monday afternoon.

Caporusso shares the weekly honor with Castleton's Rylie Wills, who nearly matched Suffolk's netminder's numbers with 46 saves and a .979 save percentage in a 2-0-0 week.

Caporusso's honor is the second of the sophomore's career and fifth for the Rams this season, who have been recognized in each of the four weeks they have been active in their inaugural campaign.

The Stouffville, ONtario native got the week going with a 28-save effort in a 3-1 win over Southern Maine. She let up just one goal in the complete-game victory, in which she was one stop shy of her personal-best. A day later, Caporusso kept the Huskies of Southern Maine off the scoreboard with 17 saves for a 3-0 shutout victory, her fourth cleansheet of the season.

In the two-game week, Caporusso allowed just one goal for a 0.50 GAA and finished with 45 total saves for a .978 save percentage.

Overall this season, Caporusso has put together a 7-2-1 ledger behind a .929 save percentage and a 1.45 GAA.

Caporusso and Suffolk wraps up its first semester action this weekend when it treks to Norwich and Castleton. The Rams will first visit the Cadets Friday, Dec. 7 at 7:00 p.m., before heading to see the Spartans the following day, Saturday, Dec. 8 for a 2:00 p.m. matchup.
