Women’s Hockey Pair Picks Up NEHC Weekly Honors; Caporusso Co-Goaltender, Poloskey Rookie

BOSTON – The Suffolk women's hockey team garnered its first conference weekly accolades in program history as Kristen Caporusso and Haley Poloskey were named co-goaltender of the week and rookie of the week, respectively, the league office announced Monday.

Caporusso backstopped Suffolk to a pair of shutout victories. To open the action the sophomore from Stouffville, Ontario turned aside four shots in a 4-0 shutout over Anna Maria, the Rams' first-ever win. The next day, she put together a 23-save performance to secure a 3-0 triumph over Johnson & Wales.

Poloskey contributed in each outing and finished the weekend with three points on one marker and a pair of helpers. Against the AMCATS she helped set-up the Rams' fourth and final goal of the outing to help lock up the program's first win and followed that with a one-goal, one-assist effort in the conference contest against the Wildcats. In Four games into her freshman season the Mattawan, Michigan native leads Suffolk in points (5) off a team-high three goals and two assists.

The Rams duo is back in action Friday, Nov. 9 when Suffolk steps out of league action and entertains Becker. Puck drop at Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink is scheduled for 5 p.m.
