BOSTON – In the first edition of the NCAA golf rankings, Suffolk women's golf landed 74th in the national poll provided by Spikemark and powered by Clippd, the national organization announced Wednesday.

With the goals of the college golf ranking system -- fairness, accuracy, and transparency -- in mind, numerous factors are considered for the rankings including by stroke differential, complexity of course and strength of schedule. Suffolk found itself 74th out of the 217 NCAA DIII programs after a successful fall. The Rams won the pair of Northeast Women's Golf Conference (NWGC) outings Sept. 30 and Oct. 1, topping the eight-team field in both 18-hole events at the Tekoa Country Club in Westfield, Massachusetts and defeated Keene State in a head-to-head match, 336-467, Sept. 23. Additionally, the blue-and-gold also turned in a runner-up finish at the Ithaca Invitational Sept. 16-17 at the RaNic Golf Club in Ithaca, New York.

At 74th, Suffolk is the highest ranked member of the NWGC and is one of just two league institutions in the top-100 along with SUNY Cortland, who sits 77th.

Suffolk is idle until the 2024 Spring Season, which will be unveiled following the New Year.
