Women’s Golf Wins NWGC Fall Classic, Smith Medalist

WESTFIELD, Mass. – Isabel Smith secured a share of individual medalist honors to anchor Suffolk women's golf to victory at the Northeast Women's Golf Conference Fall Classic Saturday at Tekoa Country Club. 

Smith, a senior captain, shot a 79 on the par-71 5,597-yard course to top the 43-golfer field along with Jillian Draper of SUNY Geneseo. 

Ellie Yarbroughwas one stroke behind her co-captain and classmate to land on the podium as well in third.  

Sophie Kiley's 85 had the final Rams' captain and senior share fourth with Lindsay Cote of Husson.  

Freshman Brooke Bugajewski rounded out Suffolk's scorers with an eighth-place performance behind a card of 87. 

As a team, Suffolk combined for a 331, 30 strokes ahead of runner-up SUNY Geneseo.  

Sophomore Ella Torsleff was on course in Western Massachusetts as well. She shot a 93, good for 15th. 

The Rams wrap up their weekend with the NWGC Fall Invitational Sunday, Oct. 1 at the Tekoa Country Club.
