BOSTON – Following a sixth-place finish at the Cortaca Northeast Invitational last weekend, Suffolk women's golf turns it's to Westfield State for a single match day on Sunday, Oct. 3. at Shaker Farms Country Club in Westfield, Massachusetts.

SUFFOLK ATHLETICS 2021-22 FAN POLICY
Suffolk University Athletics, following guidance from the University's health and safety protocols, Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), Centers for Disease Control and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, plans to allow fans to attend home athletic contests during the 2021-22 academic and athletic year.

Fans, whether vaccinated or unvaccinated, can attend games. They must be masked the entire time they are on campus, pursuant to institutional policy, and complete a health screening form at the security desk of each building upon arrival. This policy applies to home contests played on campus at the Ridgeway Building's Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court, as well as the Emmons Horrigan O'Neil Memorial Rink and the Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink.

For outdoor outings, specifically at East Boston Memorial Park, fans are asked to respect COVID safety protocols. At this time, masks will not be mandated for fans no matter vaccinated status at outdoor venues.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk women's golf turned in a sixth-place performance at the two-day Cortaca Northeast Invitational over the weekend in upstate New York.

THE COURSE
Shaker Farms Country Club is a public course with a par of 72. The golfers will face off against the course's long fairways, water hazards, and carefully placed sand traps.

OWLS OUTLOOK
Sunday's matchup between Suffolk and Westfield State is the Owls only fall competition in 2021.  

WSU's program is under new leadership, Jeff Gelinas, who took bean his duties with the Owls in August 2021. Gelinas' squad is comprised of four student-athletes, all newcomers, in juniors Jordan Eddy and Makenze Felty and two true freshmen Lily Barber and Katie MacDonald.

  • Suffolk is 1-0 when competing against Westfield State in head-to-head matches.
