Women’s Golf Wins Husson Invitational

BANGOR, Maine – Suffolk women's golf won the head-to-head, two-day battle with Husson to capture the Husson Invitational title at the Bangor Municipal Golf Course over the weekend. The Rams shot 728 in Vacation land compared to the Eagles 766.  

Isabel Smith led the way for both Suffolk and the tournament. The sophomore from Westford, Massachusetts, set a two-day Rams record with a 156 to share individual medalist honors with Husson's Morghan Dutil. Smith shaved two strokes off her day one score on the second day on the green. The 77 ties a single-day Suffolk record held by now assistant coach Nicole Antonucci.  

Ellie Yarbrough and Madison Scheinberg finished third and fourth, respectively. The former notched a 172, while the latter produce a 189. 

Sophie Kiley rounded out the Rams with a share of seventh behind a card of 211. 

Next weekend Suffolk heads to the Cortaca Northeast Invitational. The Rams will split time at Cortland Country Club in Cortland, New York and the Country Club of Ithaca in Ithaca, New York.
