ARUDEL, Maine – Suffolk women's golf started its 2021 season in the win column as the Rams defeated Husson I a head-to-head battle, 372-477, Saturday afternoon at Dutch Elm Golf Club.
A trio of Rams captured the top three spots to anchor the blue-and-gold to a first-place showing in the 18-hole outing. Just three strokes separated the top three golfers.
Freshman Ellie Yarbrough garnered individual medalist honors with an 89, while her classmate Isabel Smith was one stroke behind to finish as the runner-up and senior Nicole Antonucci rounded out the threesome with a 91.
Junior Madison Scheinberg rounded out the Rams on the par-72 course with a 102, good for fifth in the field of eight.
Suffolk is back in action next weekend Saturday, April 17 with a trip back to Arundel, Maine and the Dutch Elm Golf Club on tap for a rematch with the Eagles.
