Women’s Golf Takes Third at Martin and Wallace Invitational

CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Suffolk women's golf team turned in a third-place performance at the Martin and Wallace Invitational at the Cortland Country Club over the Weekend.

Suffolk's team card of 711 put the Rams in third place in the six-team field with the blue-and-gold's fellow Empire 8 member SUNY Cortland winning the two-day event with a score of 664. Ithaca finished second with a 672.  

Brooke Chapman led the Rams as the sophomore took fifth overall in the field of 31. Chapman shed one stroke off of her first day card of 86 on the second day of competition to finish with a 171. Classmate Nicole Antonucci was one stroke behind Chapman with a 172, good for sole possession of sixth.  

Aine Dillonshared 14th place thanks to a score of 183, while Sophia Koester rounded out the Rams on the course with a 16th-place performance behind a scorecard of 185. 

Suffolk used the two-day event to prep for the upcoming Empire 8 Championships Oct. 6-7 at Ballston Spa Country Club in Saratoga, New York.
