Dillon, McGrath Tabbed Women’s Golf Captains

BOSTON – On its first official day back on campus, Suffolk women's golf head coach Jay Parker has announced that junior Aine Dillon and senior McKenzie McGrath will share leadership responsibilities in 2018 as the Rams' co-captains.

"These two ladies are the perfect choice to take women's golf to the next level," Parker said. "Great students, mentors for their younger teammates, just great people all around. They both are real assets to our program."

Dillon and McGrath have been with the young program since its inaugural campaign in 2016-17 and become the first-ever captains of the Suffolk women's golf program. The pair helped the blue-and-gold to a breakout second season, which featured a runner-up performance at the Empire 8 Championships and the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Division III Title a week later.

McGrath, who holds down Suffolk softball's hot corner in the spring, was instrumental in the Rams' first-ever golf title as she was one of three Suffolk student-athletes to garner All-NEIGA First-Team honors, which marked the first time a Suffolk golfer – either male or female – accomplished the feat.

Dillon, meanwhile, who is the three-year course in pre-law, has shown exemplary qualities on and off the green and was awarded for such with a spot on the 2017 Empire 8 All-Sportswoman team.

The duo looks to help Suffolk to success in 2018 with its first chance at such over the weekend of September 8-9 when the Rams venture to Clifton, New York for the William Smith Invitational at the Clifton Springs Country Club.
