Women’s Golf Captures Westfield State Invitational Title

WESTFIELD, Mass. – Suffolk women's golf continued to have a historic second season as the Rams earned another trophy for their growing shelf at the Westfield State Invitational over the weekend.

In its first-ever spring schedule tournament, Suffolk combined for a 369 on the first day on the course at the Tekoa Country Club, to take a minor lead over Johnson & Wales (376) into the second day of action. The Wildcats outshot the Rams on day two; however, 376-371, but the blue-and-gold's seven-point cushion from day one held true and Suffolk claimed the crown with a team card of 740, three strokes ahead of JWU, 743. Tournament host completed the three teams competing with a score of 786.

Iselle Ventura finished as the field's runner up with a score of 175, one stroke behind individual champion Katie Goulet of Husson. On the first day on the green the freshman carded an 89 and upstaged that on day two with an 86.

Brooke Chapman finished in a two-way tie for fifth with Megahn Rocheleau. Suffolk's rookie put together 90s on each day of competition to finish the event with a score of 180.

Aine Dillon and Nicole Antonucci finished ninth and 10th, respectively. Dillon scored a 191, while Antonucci had a 194 showing.
