Women’s Golf 2018 Spring Season Set

2017-18 SUFFOLK WOMEN'S GOLF SCHEDULE

BOSTON – The Suffolk women's golf team will take the course for the first time in the spring season as the second-year program's head coach Jay Parker has unveiled its inaugural 2018 Spring Season Schedule Monday afternoon. The slate features three one-day invitational and one two-day event.

Action gets underway April 7 as the Rams head Johnson & Wales for the JWU Invitational. The follow Saturday, Suffolk makes the trip to the Valley Country Club in Warwick, Rhode Island, for the RIC Invitational. The blue-and-gold will then wrap-up one-day action at the Westfield State Invitational at the Tekoa Country Club in Westfield, Massachusetts.

Suffolk's spring schedule is set to conclude over April 28-29 at the Williams Invitational at the Taconic Country Club in Williamstown, Massachusetts.

The Rams first championship fall season was one for the history. In its first year as members of the Empire8 and on its first-ever championship course, Suffolk put together a runner-up showing in the 12-team field.

Suffolk followed that performance with an even more impressive feat as the Rams were crowned New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Women's Golf Division III Champions Oct. 22. The Rams maintained their day one, eight-stroke edge and built on it to coast to a combined 740, 22 strokes of second-place finisher Johnson & Wales (762). Along the way all six golfers wearing blue-and-gold finished inside the top-12 with three Rams, Nicole Antonucci, McKenzie McGrath, and Brooke Champman, becoming not only the first Suffolk women's golfers to take home All-NEIGA recognition, but as the first-ever Suffolk golfer's (both men and women) to accomplish the feat.
